The dog must be rated Excellent in Breed class to allow for the award of Best of breed.
Arba does this for years but in most cases the judges are AKC judges not experts on rare breeds.
In the Above case the PRESIDENT of FCI Hans Muller awarded Teddy a EXCELLENT.,
FCI is Europes AKC in which most of our breeds originated from. Very few american breeds.
Teddy got 4 Excellent from 4 different FCI experts some of which who judge CAS at RKF levels.
Many US Champions were rated VERY good and thus denied Best of breed.
The dog that won westminster took 4th in the class.
